Description

Honduras has six distinct coffee-producing regions, one of the most renowned being Montecillos, which stretches across the departments of Comayagua, Intibucá, Santa Barbara and La Paz. In Santa Barbara, in the village of San Luis Planes, Cooperativa Mixta Montaña Verde was founded in 2000 to support and train local farmers, helping them improve both the quantity and quality of their coffee. Today, the cooperative has around 160 members and is certified Organic and Fairtrade.

This washed lot is composed of the Caturra, Catuai and Bourbon varieties. It is classified as SHG EP — Strictly High Grown (above 1,200 m altitude) and European Preparation. The cup is balanced and round, with citrus acidity and aromas of milk chocolate and stone fruit, ideal for espresso or filter coffee.
