This fully washed coffee from the Kigeyo processing station and the COOPAC cooperative has a fine, balanced profile with spicy notes and intense fruity acidity that is clearly felt in the cup. This Rwandan coffee is a great choice for espresso during the colder season.
COOPAC is a Fair Trade certified cooperative located near Lake Kivu, on the steep slopes of volcanic mountains. The organization was founded by Emmanuel Rwakagara, president of COOPAC and owner of the coffee plantation on Gishamwana Island. COOPAC began in April 2001 with 110 farmers and now has 8,000 members contributing coffee from the Ack, Ubuzima, Tuzamurane, Kopabm, Abakundakurima and Abanyamurava regions. With over 50 washing stations in the northern Lake Kivu area, COOPAC exports 150 containers of Fair Trade certified coffee annually.
